Yeah, I know...BUT...Eva Zeisel approves of the idea of bringing her designs to a new generation of admirers. I have heard her say as much. The MCM purists can continue to enjoy her original designs and there is every likelihood that the reissues will soften the vintage prices a bit...great for the collector.

I'm actually pleased with the re-issue.

I need dishes that I'm not on pins-and-needles about breaking, that I can microwave with, not be nervous about roommates using. I also like the increased size, for presentation opportunities.

I looove my Riviera and Franciscan collections- but walk on eggshells when using them, and don't feel comfortable microwaving with them. Additioanlly, as fun as they are, they're restrictive with some meal presentations because of their small size.

The Zeisel mugs I am annoyed with. Far clunkier than Eva would have designed. However, again, for my kitchen-uses, they are more practical- and so, I am still pressing to buy them... but see-saw on principle issues.

      Practical or Principle. Ugh.
